While both share a similar powerful AMD Ryzen processor, the DS1525+ is equipped with built-in dual 2.5GbE LAN ports, a significant step up from the four 1GbE ports on the DS1522+. This provides a much faster networking baseline for today’s multi-gigabit networks. The DS1525+ also features a dedicated network upgrade slot for an optional 10GbE module, offering a more streamlined path to higher speeds compared to the PCIe slot on the previous model.
