Zebra TC201 Mobile Computer
The Zebra TC201 is a 6-inch Android handheld that replaces the TC22 and TC27 and reuses their batteries and charging cradles. It comes as the TC2010 (Wi-Fi 7) or the TC201G (Wi-Fi 7 and 5G), sealed to IP68.

We supply, set up and support Zebra devices in Malta.
The Zebra TC201 is a 6-inch rugged Android mobile computer for shop floors, delivery rounds and stockrooms. We now supply it in place of the TC22 and TC27. If your staff scan all day on a TC22 or TC27 that has started to lag, this is the upgrade. You choose Wi-Fi 7 only or Wi-Fi 7 with 5G, and a scan engine: two choices on the Wi-Fi 7 version, four on the 5G version. It fits the warehouse automation and labelling and barcoding projects we set up, alongside the rest of the Zebra range.
What is the Zebra TC201 for?
The Zebra TC201 is for staff who scan barcodes and capture data on the move, in a shop, a stockroom or on a delivery round. In retail that means price and stock checks, click and collect, line busting, mobile point of sale and cycle counts. In logistics and warehousing it covers picking, put-away, receiving and shipping. The 5G version suits couriers and field staff who need proof of delivery, proof of condition photos and route accounting away from the building.
Processor, scan engines and Wi-Fi on the TC201
The Zebra TC201 has a faster processor and Wi-Fi 7, and offers the AC670 scan engine, which reads barcodes up to 30 m away.
Zebra rates the TC201 at up to 150% more performance than the TC21, TC26, TC22 and TC27. The processor is a Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-6690 at up to 2.0 GHz, with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM, so several apps can run side by side.
The AC670 advanced range engine reads 1D and 2D barcodes up to 30 m away and captures high-resolution colour images, which suits staff who scan pallets and high racking. The SR500 is the standard range engine for everyday shop-floor scanning. The 5G version adds two more options. One is the SR560, an engine angled at 60 degrees. The other is a camera-only model that uses Zebra’s decoder library, which suits staff who scan now and then.
Wi-Fi 7 with Multi-Link Operation keeps the handheld on more than one band at once, and the 5G version (Release 17, one physical SIM and dual eSIM) stays connected away from your Wi-Fi.
The 6-inch Full HD+ display runs at 450 nits under Corning Gorilla Glass, and the touchscreen takes input from a bare or light-gloved finger and rejects water droplets.
How tough is the Zebra TC201?
The Zebra TC201 is sealed to IP68 and IP65 and is rated for 1.53 m drops to concrete across its -10°C to +50°C range, or 1.83 m at room temperature. With the rugged boot those figures rise to 1.83 m and 2.13 m. It survives 750 tumbles at 0.5 m, and 750 at 1.0 m with the boot. The angled-scanner version is rated lower: 1.22 m drops, or 1.53 m with the boot, and 500 tumbles.
It operates from -20°C to +50°C, which covers chilled rooms and a delivery round; the drop ratings apply from -10°C. Corning Gorilla Glass covers both the display and the scanner exit window.
The user-removable battery comes as 3800 mAh standard or 5200 mAh extended, so a long shift can take the larger one, and PowerPrecision reports real-time battery metrics. Two versions add hot swap, which keeps the device running during a battery change: the 8 GB/128 GB SR500 codes ending in BA11 (one Wi-Fi 7, one 5G).
How does the Zebra TC201 compare with the TC22 and TC27?
The Zebra TC201 keeps the TC22 and TC27’s 6-inch Full HD+ screen and size class and changes the parts inside.

Accessories also include high-density ShareCradles, a trigger handle and a wearable arm mount. You can replace a fleet a few devices at a time, and your IT team manages the TC201 centrally with Zebra DNA.
Security, management and RFID on the TC201
The Zebra TC201 is FIPS 140-3 validated and Common Criteria certified, with Secure Boot and Verified Boot; Android Strongbox with a Secure Element is on every 8 GB/128 GB version. LifeGuard for Android security and OS updates needs a Zebra OneCare plan.
Zebra DNA Core comes pre-loaded. DNA Core+ and DNA Advanced are paid upgrades, as are Identity Guardian (facial recognition) and Device Guardian, which uses the built-in Bluetooth beacon to locate lost devices.
An optional integrated UHF RFID reader reads more than 200 tags per second at up to 1.2 m on the EU 865-868 MHz band, with a Geiger-counter style locate mode. Zebra lists the RFID versions for EMEA in Q4 2026.

TC201, TC22/TC27, TC53/TC58 or TC101: which one fits?
For a new order, we supply the Zebra TC201 in place of the TC22 and TC27. We still support TC22 and TC27 fleets with spares and accessories.
Within the TC201 range, the radio and the scan engine are the two choices to settle first. Staff who stay inside the building on Wi-Fi do not need the 5G version. Everyday shop-floor scanning is what the SR500 is for; the AC670 suits staff who scan pallets and high racking. The camera-only model suits a team that scans occasionally, but it comes with 5G only.
Step up to the TC53/TC58 when shifts are long or you ship parcels. It carries larger batteries (4400 mAh standard, 6600 mAh extended), and its premium versions add a Time-of-Flight sensor for parcel dimensioning. For long-range scanning alone, the TC201 with the AC670 already reads to 30 m.
The Zebra TC201 has no dimensioning sensor, so it cannot measure parcels. Its integrated RFID reads tags at up to 1.2 m, which suits counting stock on a shelf or a rail; it is not a reader for whole pallets or dock doors.
If your staff use consumer phones today and scan on store Wi-Fi, Zebra’s entry-level TC101 is the model to compare. It has an HD+ screen instead of Full HD+, Wi-Fi 6 instead of Wi-Fi 7, and no RFID option. It comes in one memory size (6 GB/64 GB) and is rated for 1.2 m drops, or 1.5 m with the boot. Ask us for both quotes and we will tell you which one the job needs.
What we do with a TC201 order
We confirm the TC201 configuration with you (radio, memory, scan engine, battery and RFID) and check which of your TC22 and TC27 batteries and cradles carry over. Then we stage each device with your apps and Wi-Fi settings, supply the new boots and screen protectors, and support the fleet locally after handover. We quote Zebra OneCare with the devices, because LifeGuard security and OS updates depend on it.
Frequently asked questions about the TC201
Will our TC22 and TC27 batteries and cradles work with the TC201?
Yes, the Zebra TC201 takes most TC22 and TC27 accessories, including the batteries and charging cradles. The TC201 needs its own rugged boot and screen protector, so budget for those when you replace devices.
Do we need the 5G version of the TC201?
No, not if your staff stay on your Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi 7 version of the Zebra TC201 covers a shop, warehouse or office. The 5G version adds cellular data and voice, GPS, and one physical SIM plus dual eSIM. It suits couriers, field service and staff who work between sites.
Can the TC201 read RFID tags?
Only the RFID version of the Zebra TC201 can, and Zebra lists it for EMEA from Q4 2026; we confirm the delivery date with the quote. It reads UHF tags at up to 1.2 m and more than 200 tags per second on the EU band.
