What the TC22 / TC27 is for

The TC22/TC27 is Zebra’s value rugged mobile computer: a familiar smartphone-style device that workers pick up without training, but built for work, with enterprise scanning, all-day battery and serious durability, at a price close to a consumer phone. It suits retail, hospitality, the warehouse, field service and entertainment, anywhere you want mobile data capture without paying for the top-tier devices. It fits the warehouse automation and labelling and barcoding workflows Sirap builds.

Who it is for

Maltese retail, hospitality, logistics and field-service operations that want enterprise mobility on a sensible budget. Choose the TC22 where Wi-Fi coverage is enough, and the TC27 where workers need 5G or cellular away from the building. For ultra-rugged or extended-range scanning, step up to the TC53/TC58 or TC73/TC78, and we will tell you when that is worth it.

Built to perform

Power for every app. A next-generation processor with twice the performance of the prior generation, plus class-leading memory and storage, runs all your apps at once.

The best wireless. 5G and Wi-Fi 6/6E (TC27) deliver wired-like speeds inside and out, with CBRS and private 5G support; the TC22 covers Wi-Fi 6. Bluetooth 5.2 improves audio at lower power.

Enterprise scanning. Capture barcodes in nearly half the time of a phone camera with the SE4710 1D/2D standard engine or the SE55 Advanced Range engine with Intellifocus, scanning in-hand or on the top shelf.

A 6-inch display you can read anywhere. A bright 450-nit FHD+ screen is easy to read indoors and outside.

Genuinely rugged. Waterproof, dustproof, drop-proof and tumble-proof, with IP68 sealing and drop/tumble testing beyond MIL-STD 810H, and Corning Gorilla Glass protecting the display and scanner window.

All-day, swappable power. A standard 3800 mAh battery for a full shift or an extended 5200 mAh for multi-shift, both removable so the device never leaves service to charge.

Comfortable in the hand. Nearly 10% thinner than its predecessor with a contoured grip for any hand size.

Easy to manage and extend

Mobility DNA built in. No-cost Mobility DNA Professional adds enterprise features to standard Android, fast staging, app control, code-free barcode entry, security patches and diagnostics; an optional Enterprise licence adds multi-barcode capture, custom keyboards, Workstation Connect and device tracking.

Contactless and payments. Built-in tap-to-pay support plus Apple VAS and Google SmartTap for tickets, loyalty, gift cards and wallet passes.

One device, many roles. Turn it into a workstation or hybrid POS with Workstation Connect, a fast RFID reader with RFD40/RFD90 sleds, or a two-way radio and PBX handset with push-to-talk, reducing the number of devices to buy and manage.

Frequently asked questions

TC22 or TC27?
The TC22 is Wi-Fi only; the TC27 adds 5G and cellular for workers who leave Wi-Fi coverage. Otherwise they share the same platform, scanning and durability. Choose by whether you need connectivity away from the building.

How is this different from the TC53/TC58?
The TC2x is the value tier; the TC5x adds a faster processor, Wi-Fi 6E, brighter display and longer-range scanning. For most retail and light-warehouse tasks the TC22/TC27 is plenty; for heavier or longer-range use, consider the TC53/TC58.

Can it replace consumer phones we use now?
Yes, and it usually pays back: enterprise scanning is far faster than a phone camera, the device is rugged and serviceable, and Mobility DNA simplifies management.
