The Domino Gx150i is the standard model in the Gx-Series of thermal inkjet (TIJ) printers, built for high-resolution, graphic-quality coding on a wide range of products and packaging. TIJ uses heat to fire ink droplets with precision, giving sharp text, logos and machine-readable 2D codes, and it is maintenance-free: replacing the ink cartridge also replaces the wear parts, so there are no service contracts. The compact printheads mount up to 25m from the controller, which makes the Gx150i easy to fit on most lines.
What is the Gx150i for?
It suits lines that need crisp, high-resolution codes on porous and coated surfaces, cartons, labels and cases, across food and beverage, healthcare and general manufacturing. It runs one or two printheads, which covers single-line date and batch coding through to two-sided case coding or taller stitched messages, and it is ready for track and trace with a 21 CFR Part 11 audit trail.
Key features
Graphic-quality codes. Up to 600dpi resolution gives sharp text, logos and Grade A data-matrix codes on paper, card, plastic and metal.
Maintenance-free running. Changing the ink cartridge replaces the wear parts too, so there is no scheduled servicing, and automatic cartridge recognition sets the right ink parameters to prevent errors.
Flexible printheads. Standard 12.7mm, EXT for codes up to 26.1mm without stitching, or OPT for a higher throw distance, with dual-printhead operation for two-sided coding or message heights up to 25.4mm.
Uptime features. AutoSwap allows cartridge changes while printing, and an optional Bulk Ink system supports long, unattended runs.

Which Domino coder is right for you?
The Gx150i is the standard TIJ choice. Step up to the Gx350i if you need up to four printheads, an IP64 controller, taller stitched messages or fieldbus integration, or to the Gx-Series PRO if you need built-in vision verification of every code. If your codes are simple dates on varied or harsh substrates, a continuous inkjet coder may suit better, and for permanent, ink-free marks see laser coding.
Frequently asked questions
What resolution and speed does the Gx150i achieve?
Up to 600dpi and up to 300 m/min at 60dpi, giving graphic-quality codes that keep pace with fast lines.
Does it need servicing?
No. It is maintenance-free: replacing the ink cartridge also replaces the wear parts, so there are no service contracts.
Can it handle 2D barcodes and serialisation?
Yes. It prints Grade A data-matrix codes and supports item-level serialisation with a 21 CFR Part 11 audit trail.
