The Domino Ax550i is the top model in the Ax-Series, a continuous inkjet (CIJ) coder built for the most aggressive production environments. It pairs the highest speed in the range, up to 9.1 m/s, with a 316 marine-grade stainless steel cabinet and an IP66 rating, so it keeps coding cleanly through intensive caustic washdown. It is the model for plants where hygiene and durability are not negotiable, such as dairy and bottling and pharmaceutical lines.

What is the Ax550i for?

It is for lines that are washed down hard and often with caustic cleaning agents, where a standard coder would corrode or have to be removed before every clean. A coder that has to come off the line for washdown causes downtime; one that stays in place protects production. The Ax550i is engineered to stay put and keep coding, which is why it suits the most demanding hygienic environments and high-value goods under strict regulatory standards.

The Ax550i is the model to choose when the line is washed down with caustic agents and the cabinet has to survive it. If your environment is dusty or washed down but not aggressively caustic, the Ax350i gives you the same IP66 protection, speed and Industry 4.0 connectivity for less, and for standard lines the Ax150i or Ax130i are the cost-effective answer. The honest rule is to pay for 316 marine-grade steel only where the washdown genuinely demands it.
