What the ZD621 is for

The ZD621 is the top of Zebra’s desktop range: a compact 4-inch printer that brings near-industrial print quality, speed and security to a desk, counter or clinic. It is the printer to choose when a basic desktop unit is not enough but a full industrial machine is too much, and it comes in models for specific jobs, a healthcare version (ZD621-HC) with disinfectant-ready plastics and a colour touchscreen as standard, and an RFID version (ZD621R) that prints and encodes UHF labels. It suits retail, healthcare, light manufacturing and office labelling, and fits the labelling and barcoding setups Sirap builds.

Who it is for

Maltese retail, healthcare and light manufacturing operations that want premium desktop quality with strong security and remote management. The ZD621-HC is built for hospitals, labs and pharmacies; the ZD621R for desktop RFID. If you only print light volumes and do not need the premium features, the ZD411 or ZD200 are more proportionate; for industrial duty, step up to the ZT231.

Built to perform

Premium print quality at 203 or 300 dpi, up to 8 ips (203 mm/s), in a compact footprint, the GX-Series replacement with a far more powerful architecture (around 30% more than the ZD620, and far more than the GX Series) to run more tasks at once and stay ready for what is next.

Models for the job. Direct thermal, thermal transfer, linerless, healthcare (ZD621-HC) and RFID (ZD621R), so the same trusted platform covers very different applications.

Flexible media. A movable media sensor handles virtually any media, and an optional battery and carrying case turn it into a portable printer for a full shift.

Optional colour touchscreen. A 4.3in full-colour LCD touch display (standard on healthcare and RFID models) gives step-by-step setup wizards, troubleshooting animations and media-loading guidance, so an operator needs minimal training; simpler models show status via five LED icons.

Drops into your fleet. Backwards compatible with virtually any existing thermal printer, supporting EPL and ZPL and emulating other brands via Print DNA Virtual Devices, so you keep your existing label formats.

Connect your way. Ethernet, Serial, USB 2.0 and USB Host as standard, with an optional dual radio for Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1, plus NFC tap-to-pair; print from Windows, Android and iOS.

Managed, secure and RFID-ready

Remote fleet management. Print DNA powered by Link-OS, with Printer Profile Manager Enterprise, lets you manage, secure and troubleshoot one printer or a whole fleet from a single browser-based location, ideal for Managed Print Services.

Security built in. PrintSecure configures the printer over secure connections, identifies vulnerabilities and blocks unauthorised access, which matters for the sensitive data on a healthcare or regulated site.

Desktop RFID without complication. The ZD621R uses Zebra’s RE40 module with adaptive encoding to print and encode UHF labels, tags and wristbands, with simple calibration and no complex placement guidelines.

The ZD621 is the premium desktop, with healthcare and RFID models and a colour touchscreen. If you need solid desktop printing without the premium features, the ZD411 or entry ZD200 are more cost-effective; for higher volumes or rugged duty, move to the ZT231 industrial printer. Does the ZD621 do RFID?

Can it replace our existing desktop printer?
