What the ZD200 Series is for

The ZD200 Series is Zebra’s value desktop range: the printer to choose when you want genuine Zebra reliability and build quality at the lowest price, for straightforward label printing. Rather than cutting corners, Zebra engineers these to deliver dependable operation with the basic features you need, backed by Zebra service and support. It prints a wide range of tickets, tags, passes, labels and receipts and suits transport and logistics, light manufacturing, retail and healthcare. It fits the everyday labelling and barcoding work Sirap supports.

Who it is for

Maltese retail, logistics and light manufacturing operations printing standard 4-inch labels at modest volumes, where price matters and the advanced features of the ZD400 range are not needed. If you want a faster processor, a movable media sensor, a healthcare model or stronger security and fleet management, step up to the ZD421 or ZD411. For heavy daily volumes, an industrial ZT111 is the better long-term choice, and we will say so.

Easy to run

Printing out of the box. Simple to install and start using straight away, with Zebra’s OpenACCESS clamshell design for fast media replacement and a single LED and feed/pause button that make status and operation obvious.

Drops in for a legacy printer. Replaces older or non-Zebra desktop printers easily, supporting ZPL, EPL and other command languages, so you keep your existing label formats.

Connect simply (ZD230). USB as standard, with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options for universal interoperability; the entry ZD220 is USB only.

Built to perform and last

Genuine Zebra quality. Engineered with Zebra build quality rather than corner-cutting, for reliable operation that value-brand printers struggle to match, all backed by Zebra’s worldwide service and support network.

Fast enough for the job (ZD230). Prints up to 152 mm/s (6 ips) to keep workflows moving, with increased memory to store more fonts and graphics; the ZD220 prints up to 102 mm/s.

Lower running cost. ENERGY STAR qualified, and the ZD230 accepts a 300 m ribbon roll to lengthen the time between media changes.

Dependable software and supplies

Print DNA Basic. The ZD230 includes Print DNA Basic, a core set of software capabilities for a cost-effective, dependable print experience.

Field options. Choose direct thermal or thermal transfer, and add a factory-installed peeler or cutter to match how you apply labels.

Genuine supplies and support. We supply genuine Zebra labels and ribbons pretested for consistent results and protect printhead life, and support the printer locally.

Frequently asked questions

ZD220 or ZD230?
The ZD220 is the entry model: USB only, up to 102 mm/s. The ZD230 prints faster (up to 152 mm/s), adds Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options, Print DNA Basic and peeler/cutter options, and accepts a longer ribbon roll. For anything beyond the simplest USB-only setup, the ZD230 is usually worth it.

Is a value printer reliable enough?
Yes. The ZD200 is built with genuine Zebra quality rather than corner-cutting, and is backed by Zebra’s service network. For heavy continuous use, though, an industrial printer like the ZT111 will last longer and cost less over time.

Can it replace our old printer without re-coding labels?
Usually yes. It supports ZPL, EPL and other command languages, so it drops into most existing setups without rewriting label formats.
