The Eaton 5P is a premium line-interactive UPS for racks, comms rooms and edge sites, in a compact 1U rack or tower form. It delivers a pure sinewave output for sensitive equipment, runs at up to 98 percent efficiency to keep cooling and running costs down, and adds a graphical LCD and network management. It is the line-interactive unit for a rack that matters, in a small footprint.

What is the 5P for?

It protects a rack of servers and network equipment, a comms cabinet or an edge site that needs premium line-interactive power, clean output, high efficiency and the management to monitor and shut down cleanly, without the size or cost of an online system. It sits above the standard 5SC; its newer sibling is the 5P Gen2, and the larger premium line-interactive unit is the 5PX Gen2. Use our sizing guide to pick the rating.

Key features

Pure sinewave output. In battery mode the 5P delivers a clean sinewave for sensitive equipment such as active-PFC server power supplies.

High efficiency. Up to 98 percent efficiency reduces wasted energy, cooling load and running cost.

Switched outlet groups. Two switched groups let you shed non-essential load to extend runtime, or sequence shutdown and restart.

Management and serviceability. A graphical LCD, USB and serial as standard, a slot for an optional SNMP/Web card, and a hot-swap bypass that lets you service the unit without dropping the load.

Which Eaton UPS is right for you?

The 5P is premium line-interactive in a compact 1U. Its current-generation equivalent is the 5P Gen2; for a larger premium line-interactive unit with extended battery modules, the 5PX Gen2; for standard infrastructure, the 5SC. If the load cannot tolerate a momentary transfer, choose an online unit such as the 9PX; the topology guide explains the choice.
